Special protection for endangered species to take effect

(MENAFN) A list of 33 endangered species were voted for extra protection, including chimpanzees, leopards and giraffes, by a UN-backed wildlife conference held in the Philippines, the list also included whale sharks, the world's biggest fish.

On Saturday, Convention of Migratory Species (CMS) was completed after six days, which asked for improved protection services for species around the country borders. "Everybody has to pitch in" to efforts, said the group's executive secretary.

Bradney Chamber affirmed "it has helped to convey the message that the future of migratory wildlife is integral to our own future and that we all have the responsibility to act". Governments promised as well to lend a hand in decreasing the negative impacts of marine debris, noise pollution and climate change on migratory species.
