Morocco- King Mohammed VI Launches Construction of Rabat's New Bus Station

(MENAFN - Morocco World News) Rabat – launched on Friday the construction work of Rabat's new bus station, a development project near the motorway network and sports complex Moulay Abdallah.

Rabat's future bus station will be designed with modern architecture, optimizing spaces for passenger management, and will be equipped with equipment that meets international requirements for safety, security, and quality of service.

Mobilizing a land of more than 8 hectares and covering an area of 21,617 m2, this project, which will have direct access from the motorway, will include 46 coach docks, parking lots for short-term parking (24 places), and another parking space for long-term parking (20 places), as well as dining and waiting areas.

Worth around MAD 160 million, the project will contribute to decongesting traffic in the city, reducing the rate, and optimizing passenger transport by improving service delivery.

The project will be carried out within 36 months as part of a partnership between the Ministry of Equipment, Transport, Logistics, and Water and the commune of Rabat. The bus station is part of "the City of Light, the Moroccan Capital of Culture"

development program, aiming to "elevate the city of to the rank of the world's major metropolises" and to equip it with infrastructures that should meet the expectations of its residents and visitors.
