(MENAFN - Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, Oct 21: The Criminal Court has sentenced to death by hanging two Asians who were found guilty of trafficking in drugs, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily added, the accused were caught in possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking. No further details were available.
Syrian drug addict nabbed: A Syrian drug addict was arrested evening in possession of drugs at a security checkpoint in Fintas area, reports Al-Nahar daily. According to security sources, Ahmadi securitymen were carrying out routine security inspection at a checkpoint in Fintas area when a car of Japanese make arrived at the checkpoint. When securitymen noticed his nervousness, they checked his details and discovered he is a Syrian expatriate. They searched his car and found a bag containing methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
The Moroccan judiciary has sentenced three Moroccans to various years jail terms with different fines for allegedly using a photo to blackmail and threaten a Kuwaiti man on social media, reports Al-Anba daily. The Court of First Instance at Wadi Zam Province sentenced the first defendant (32 years old) to 15 months in prison with Dirham 5,000 fine equivalent to KD 160, and the second defendant (22-year old female) to nine months imprisonment with fine of Dirham 4,000 equivalent to KD 128, while the third defendant (21 years old) was sentenced to six months in jail with Dirham 500 fine equivalent to KD 16. The court also ordered confiscation of their phones and computer used for the heinous activity. Apparently, the two male defendants used the lady as bait to entice men via the mobile application 'LINE' where she managed to take photos to blackmail and threaten victims with the help of her accomplices. They used the trick to demand money from their victims by threatening to post their photos on social media. For this reason, the complainant sought the guidance of Lawyer Ali Al-Kanderi to bring the suspects to book.
