Held under the theme, "Moroccan Spirit," the show consists of live and studio-recorded music performances by various artists. Each hour-long episode features four songs from a diverse mix of styles.

The concept for the show was created in 2007 by .

"The aim of the show is to protect our musical heritage, nothing better than to create an interaction between the various generations," said 2M. "It is the ambition of the Coke Studio magazine. On every edition, artist belonging to different generations will confront, each has its culture and its sensibility."

On Monday, eight artists performed in Coke Studio Morocco. The show opened with an epic musical mash-up with two different generations: the singer Latifa Raafat, who became famous in the golden age of Moroccan modern song, and young Rai singer Abdelhafid Douzi.

Raafat decided to perform the song "Khouya" for the first time after her brother's death in 2006.

Coke Studio Morocco published the performance on YouTube, and in less than 24 hours the video reached 23 300 views.
