Marine Atlantic Incorporated implements SchedOpt solution from Revenue Technology Services (RTS)

(MENAFN Editorial) We are pleased to announce that Marine Atlantic Incorporated (MAI), a ferry operator based in Canada has gone live with SchedOpt in April 2016. SchedOpt is the first commercially available Ferry scheduling solution incorporating sophisticated demand forecasting and schedule optimization algorithms to optimally allocate ships to routes after considering a number of operational scheduling parameters using a business rules engine. The solution considers key operational constraints such as capacities, dock times, co-docking constraints, and maintenance requirements. It provides the capability to optimally generate schedules by season, week, or for the entire year and allows editing/what-if analysis of schedules by the users.

Apart from adding to our growing family of cruise ferry clients, this additionally adds another product to RTS' list of revenue enhancing solutions for the transportation industry.

This also further provides impetus to RTS in providing both strategic and tactical solutions aimed at optimizing revenues and improving cost efficiencies. The SchedOpt solution may be hosted by RTS or locally installed, and provides the necessary interfaces for incorporating existing schedule data as well as distributing schedules both internally and externally where required.
