Thousands said 'Yas' to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi Eid shows

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Eid Al Fitr special celebrations at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi on Yas Island saw thousands make good on the offers that lasted till Saturday.

Ferrari World gave a ''Free View'' to visitors during the holy month and let them enjoy the ''pay as you go'' rides too.

The three-day Eid shows were also well received and La Piazza stage shows were always packed to capacity. The traditional performances by artistes from the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Oman brought people of all ages together on the same platform.

The bubble performer wowed the children and the face painter turned them into butterflies and superheroes. Ladies thronged the henna artist.

"I am not 100cm tall and couldn''t try the adventurous rides. But getting inside a bubble has cheered me up," five-year-old Fathima said after the bubble artist show. "I did enjoy Benno the Mouse great race and Bell''Italia ride," she added.

For Haroon Rasheed, Ferrari World is a place he visits with his family on important occasions and Eid is one of them. He also liked the idea of getting a Free View of the park.

"Children had a great time at (remote controlled cars) RC Challenge. My boy has a particular liking for Scuderia Challenge where he tests his skills on racing simulators," he said.

Those seeking exhilarating moments thronged to record-breaking rollercoaster Formula Rossa and Flying Aces. ''Wohooo!'' screams were heard throughout the day from the park.

"Formula Rossa is an amazing ride. Initially I was scared but now I am going to try this one more time," said Jordanian Ahmed Al Maroozi, who is visiting his fiance in the Capital. "I will be back here in few months," he added after the 240kmph world''s fastest roller-coaster ride.

Then there were those who overcame their fear by testing the aerobatic adventure with the Flying Aces that has the world''s tallest loop.

"This is the first time we are here and had a great one. The Flying Aces is the scariest of the lot. I couldn''t dare a second one," said Rajesh Vaitla. His wife, though, was ready for another go. "The loop, the twists, the turns and the zero-gravity moments gave me thrills abound," Swapna chipped in.

Karting Academy, Fiorano GT Challenge, Speed of Magic among other sections saw visitors make the most of the fun-filled Eid holidays.

Ferrari World has now rolled out ''Family and Friends'' offer. This promotion, running from July 10 to September 9, allows visitors to purchase four Bronze admission tickets for the price of three at Dh825. Groups of more than four members can buy three additional bronze tickets at Dh206.25 per person.

Visitors will also be eligible to enter a lucky draw and win rewards, including a Maserati and Dh1 million in cash as part of the ''Say Yas'' summer campaign.
