Turkey, US discuss anti-terrorism fight in Brussels

(MENAFN - The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) >Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and the U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry discussed the security situation in the Middle East in their meeting in Brussels Friday, according to tweets made by the Turkish minister.

In a message posted on his official Twitter account, Cavusoglu said: “Good discussion with FM John Kerry on efforts against terrorism, regional developments and current situation in Syria.”

Both top diplomats are in Brussels to attend a meeting of foreign ministers from NATO member countries.

The two sides also reportedly discussed latest developments in Iraq and measures to take to stem the flow of foreign fighters pouring into the region.

Separately, Cavusoglu met with Macedonian Foreign Minister Nikola Poposki, with whom he discussed “ways to further strengthen bilateral relations & NATO-Macedonia relations,” he tweeted.

Before leaving Brussels for Turkey on Friday, Cavusoglu lastly met with the Bulgarian Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov.

On Thursday, Turkish foreign minister met with his counterparts from Greece, Nikos Kotzias, the Netherlands, Bert Koenders, and Denmark, Kristian Jensen.
