(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Vice President and Prime Minister of Yemen Khaled Bahah met with GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif Al-Zayani in the Saudi capital Tuesday, official media reported.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of subjects of mutual interest, particularly Yemen affairs, including efforts exerted to provide aid and relief, reconstruction, and development, in addition to electricity and infrastructure in various Yemeni governorates, according to Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Bahah expressed his gratitude to Gulf countries for their continued support to his country, particularly Saudi Arabia, UAE, and all friendly countries.
For his part, Al-Zayani stressed the importance of implementing UNSC resolution 2216 which guarantees restoration of security and stability in Yemen, reiterating GCC's support of Yemen until security and stability are achieved in all cities and provinces in that country.
Meanwhile, the Yemeni Premier also met with US Ambassador to Yemen Matthew Tueller in Riyadh today.
During the meeting, Bahah affirmed his government's keenness to end the war in Yemen and stop the violations practiced by the Houthis and Saleh militias against the Yemeni people, a press statement said, according to SPA.
He also said that the government and local authorities are on the ground in all liberated areas and that work is currenlty underway in various security, relief, and reconstruction fields.
For his part, Tueller reiterated his country's keenness on restoring security and stability in all Yemeni cities, expressing Washington's condemnation of the actions carried out by revolutionary militias against the Yemeni people.
