UAE lifts ban on importing Jordanian agricultural produce

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, July 26 (Petra) - The United Arab Emirates (UAE) decided to resume importing Jordanian vegetables and fruits, Minister of Agriculture Khaled Hneifat announced.

UAE has lifted the ban on importing seven types of Jordan's main vegetables, including Squash, eggplant, sweet pepper, lettuce, cauliflower, cabbage and green beans, Hneifat explained.

The Minister told Petra that the decision came as a result of the continuous ministry's efforts as well as other measures regarding pesticide residues.

The UAE is one of Jordan's biggest importers of fruits and vegetables, with over 155,000 tonnes of produce exported annually, Hneifat added.
