Egypt- Court postpones verdict in Ajnad Misr case to 7 June


(MENAFN- Daily News Egypt) The Giza Criminal Court postponed on Sunday the verdict on 44 defendants in the case known as 'Ajnad Misr Organisation' to 7 June.

The defendants are accused of establishing a terrorist group, as well as targeting and killing a number of security forces.

Ajnad Misr was reportedly formed in 2014 and has claimed responsibility for several attacks in Egypt.

The US department of state officially designated Ajnad Misr as a 'Specially Designated Global Terrorist' in 2014, describing it as a 'violent extremist group that splintered from Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis [now known as Sinai Province].'
