Oman- New fuel prices from January 15

H E Darwish bin Ismail bin Ali al Balushi Minister Responsible for Financial Affairs said that the decision to amend fuel prices will come into effect from January 15.

In a media statement on Wednesday he said that a committee comprising Undersecretaries from the ministries of Oil and gas Finance Commerce and industry and the CEO of Orpic is in charge of deciding the prices every month to ensure they are linked to global prices. The prices will be announced three days before the implementation date.

He said the committee is empowered to supervise and follow up the implementation of the decision and ensure that all filling stations comply with the prices decided.

He said the funds paid so far to subsidise the difference in fixed and global prices will be used in the State Budget especially to finance projects that contribute to diversification add value to the Omani economy and generate jobs.
