Cyprus resolution to require up to USD33b

(MENAFN) The cost of a solution to reunify the eastern Mediterranean island in Cyprus has been estimated at between USD27-33 billion, according to the available data.

The negotiations are being held between the leaders of the Greek and Turkish Cypriot communities of Cyprus, and they both consider the whopping cost a major problem.

However, both parties acknowledged that it will take a global effort to apply an ultimate solution and to find the money needed to pay compensation to people deprived of their homes.

The whole problem lies with the fact that there's 170,000 Greek Cypriots still living as internally displaced people and consider themselves as refugees inside their country.
