37% growth in German exports to Egypt in 2015

(MENAFN- Daily News Egypt) Over the past period, Egyptian-German commercial relations witnessed growth despite the problems facing the Egyptian economy, said Rainer Herret, CEO of the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

These problems include the lack of foreign currency, gas and the electricity crisis,

He added that the volume of Egyptian exports to Germany increased by 2%, as Egypt exported vegetables, fruits and juices worth ‚¬9m in the past nine months, while German exports to Egypt jumped by 37%.

Herret said the Egyptian and African market has a number of investment opportunities, as the African continent is a virgin market that needs more foreign direct investment (FDI), which opens the door for Egypt to become the gateway to African economic relations.

For his part, Klaus Dietrich, Chairman and CEO of Messe München, said there is great demand for participation in the Bauma exhibition for construction machinery and mining machines, referring to the participation of about 3,421 companies from 57 countries, including an Egyptian company.
