Bomb blast near bank injures 19 in Afghanistan


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) At least 19 people, mostly civilians, were injured in a bomb explosion in northern Afghanistan early Wednesday, as airstrikes continued to target armed rebels in the east of the country, officials said according to dpa.

A bomb placed inside a motorbike blew up near a private bank branch in the capital of Faryab province, Maimana, officials said.

'Two children, one woman and two policemen are among those injured in the explosion,' said Tamim, the official in charge of the province's public hospitals.

'Four of the victims are in critical condition,' he said.
No group has claimed responsibility for the bombing.
