Maytha Al Shamsi and US Ambassador discuss joint cooperation


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) Dr. Maytha bint Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State and Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Marriage Fund, MF, and Barbara A. Leaf, Ambassador of the USA, have discussed a number of issues related to youth and family building, as well as mechanisms to activate joint work in these areas through the exchange of experiences and the preparation of research and studies.

Dr. Al Shamsi welcomed the US envoy, noting that her visit comes within the framework of strengthening cooperation relations between the United Arab Emirates and the United States in order to enhance joint efforts in social areas.

During the meeting, Al Shamsi provided a detailed explanation of the role of the Marriage Fund as a social institution dealing with youth and family.

The US Ambassador praised the role played by the UAE's government in the support and care of young people, providing the appropriate opportunities that would ensure them a decent life, stressing that the Marriage Fund is a leading institution in the region that contributes to achieving community and family cohesion.

She also commended the comprehensive renaissance witnessed by the UAE in various cultural, social, health and other sectors.

At the end of the meeting, Dr. Al Shamsi thanked the US envoy for her visit to the Marriage Fund and said that she hoped to continue joint constructive cooperation between the two parties so as to achieve common goals between the UAE and the United States.

Al Shamsi also wished Leaf success in her duties, welcoming the constructive cooperation to achieve the joint objectives of the two friendly countries.
