Vancouver's economy to lose USD1.2b due to oil spill

(MENAFN) Canadian Vancouver's economy is set to lose a USD1.2 billion due to a huge oil spill caused by Kinder Morgan's Trans Mountain pipeline development, Global News reported.

The spill is expected to amount to 16 million liter spilled in Burrard Inlet, which is situated adjacent to the heavily industrial city of Vancouver, according to economists.

"And that's just if an oil spill occurs. The idea of being a major oil port has economic impact as well. Our economy is very dependent on the image of Vancouver as a liberal city, a green city." A source said.
