(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) Dubai Land Department, DLD, has signed a sponsorship agreement with the Princess Haya Award for Special Education, PHASE, to host its fifth cycle due to be held on 22nd and 23rd of April.

As part of the award, a one day symposium will be held on 22nd April at Dubai Knowledge Village, followed by the Award Ceremony and Gala Night the next day at Madinat Jumeirah.

At the signing ceremony, Majida Ali Rashid, Assistant Director General, DLD, said, "We are delighted and honoured to be able to provide full support to the fifth cycle of the Princess Haya Award for Special Education. This extremely worthy initiative enables us to show our deep level of commitment to one of the most important sectors of our community. Through the partnership of Dubai Land Department and the organising committee of the award, we are proud to be able to work towards the award's goals, which are to achieve greater success in the special education sector.

"Our ongoing relationship with the Princess Haya Award will benefit children with special needs who require assistance to help them integrate effectively into society. Although a vital component, this activity is just one aspect of our extensive social responsibility programme, which comprises a comprehensive array of initiatives that cater to the community."

Mohammed Al Emadi, Head of the Executive Committee of the PHASE award, expressed his gratitude to Dubai Land Department for joining hands with PHASE, commending the role of the Dubai Land Department in community development and building community bridges to support one another.

He also highlighted the fact that the award programme aims to promote special education services and the rewarding of people working in the field, as well as eliciting social roles of both public and private sectors, encouraging them to provide strategic support to the centres for special education. The programme also inspires national, administrative and technical staff to exert more effort to excel in the services offered.

Launched in November 2008, the Princess Haya Award for Special Education is the first initiative of its kind in the region. It targets role models in the special needs sector through various categories according to high international standards. The initiative also aims to encourage people to excel and set higher service standards in all fields of special education.
