UK's Carillion wins USD590m Dubai construction contracts

(MENAFN) UK builder Carillion said that it selected Al Futtaim Carillion as its most preferred bidder for two construction contracts valued at USD590 million, Arabian Business reported.

The construction firm said that Meraas, Dubai's holding company, chose JV as its most favored bidder for a USD348.47 million contract to build a mixed-use development on the Dubai Creek waterfront.

Al Futtaim Carillion was also chosen by Meraas as its favorite bidder for a USD240.05 million contract for the construction of La Mer at Jumeirah in Dubai.

Included in the project is the construction of a mixture of top-end retail and public-facility buildings, along with an external landscaping to create over 1km of beach-themed frontage.

"We are delighted to have been selected as the preferred bidder for these two major contracts. This reflects our reputation for high-quality and reliability," Carillion chief executive said in a statement.
