Saudi- Bid to smuggle 4 million narcotic pills foiled
(MENAFN- Arab News) customs officers at the Haditha checkpoint in Al-Jouf region have foiled attempts to smuggle more than 4 million narcotic pills into the Kingdom in two separate operations burnews.com online paper reported.In the first attempt some 1308000 pills of captagon were uncovered while hidden in a consignment of wooden holders of the Holy Qur'an. The holders were emptied and the narcotics were carefully placed inside according to the head of the customs at Haditha checkpoint Ibrahim Al-Inizi.In the second operation 2970688 narcotic pills were uncovered wrapped in silicon-coated plastic packs. The packs were pressed and silicon was put on the edge of the packs to conceal the content he said.Smugglers have adopted new methods to bring narcotics into the Kingdom but alert customs officers at all ports of entry have foiled their attempts he said.
