Turkey rejects Trump’s Gaza proposal

(MENAFN) Calling for Trump’s suggested plan not to be taken into account, Hakan Fidan, Turkish Foreign Minister, reported on Wednesday that Ankara rejects US President Donald Trump’s proposal to seize Gaza Strip and evacuate its people.

Fidan stated in a meeting with an Arabic channel: “There are probably only two countries in the world that support this: the US and Israel. The rest of the world is against it.”

Fidan stressed that reducing conflicts and ceasing wars in areas including the Middle East, the Caucasus, the Balkans, the Black Sea, the Mediterranean, along with the Aegean area is Turkey’s top priority in foreign affairs. He also emphasized that if this transpires, it would become significantly easier to achieve economic growth and deliver essential services to the people.

He also stated: “We pursue a foreign policy that is constructive, does not threaten the security of others, respects the territorial integrity of all, aims for economic development, and shows respect for the national will of everyone.”
