Hexnode MDM Releases iOS Remote View Feature: The Gem in the Support Toolkit for Real Time Assistance

The feature is supported by Apple devices with iOS version 11 and above. The addition of remote view feature will enable the IT support team to efficiently provide assistance and troubleshoot issues on the end devices. Hexnode MDM already supports remote view for Android devices and remote control for Samsung Knox devices. Since Apple does not allow remote control of the device, the feature set is limited to remote view alone. Also, unlike Android, the remote view function takes place only when the end user agrees to it.

The remote view feature is used for providing remote assistance to the end users. The support team need not physically access the device for any troubleshooting process. The device screen could be viewed directly from the Hexnode MDM portal. Also, unlike Android, the iOS remote view does not require an agent app to be installed in the device. The Hexnode MDM app is all that is needed for the feature to be enabled. For iOS 11 devices, the user has to add the screen-sharing option to the control center themselves. From iOS 12 onwards, the option to turn on remote view will be available on the Hexnode MDM app itself.
