Jordan- CPF prepares paper on youth needs for London conference
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency)
Amman, February 17 (Petra) - The Crown Prince Foundation (CPF) has started to prepare a position paper on the needs and aspirations of Jordanian youth, in line with their economic priorities and ambitions to be presented at the "London 2019 Initiative," dedicated to support the Kingdom's economy and investment.
To reflect the youth's needs, the CPF carried out a series of consultative meetings with young people from various governorates across the Kingdom, during which the participants conducted a scientific analysis to identify the most important economic problems facing them.
During the consultative sessions, a host of possible solutions were identified that could likely be embraced on the short and long runs.
This CPF's effort will be followed by the drafting of a holistic position paper to highlight the outcomes of these sessions, which were implemented with the support of the United Kingdom Department for International Development (DFID), in partnership with the British Council and the participation of representatives of all youth groups in the governorates between the ages of 18-24, selected according to an open invitation.
To achieve this bid, the CPF will send 10 young people, involved in its initiatives to attend the conference, to present the position paper, and take part in the gathering's panel sessions.
The Executive Director of the CPF, Dr. Tammam Manko, said: "We have been keen to hold discussions with young people to ensure diversity to reach some activists with a focus on the less participatory groups in their regions, based on the awareness of young people on economic and political issues."
Manko noted the CPF's strategy focuses on the need to revive dialogue with young people to gain support and develop a youth work agenda.
She added: "The sessions are the cornerstone for framing the most important issues of interest to young people to come up with a clear position paper that will be reviewed periodically."
