Mideast mergers & acquisitions hit USD37.4bn


(MENAFN) Middle Eastern investment banking charges reached USD580.7mn amid the Jan-Sep period of this year, an 11 percent increase.

Accordingly, the value of announced M&A transactions with any Mideast involvement reached USD37.4bn amid the cited period of the year.

However, Mideast equity and equity-related issuance totaled USD1.5bn amid the same period, a 72 percent decline from the same period of 2015.

Overseas acquisitions from Qatar reached 41 percent of Mideast outbound M&A activity, while acquisitions by firms based in KSA and UAE accounted for 34pct and 11pct.
