Kuwait head of Arab tariffs cmte for 6th time


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, Aug 24 (KUNA) -- The State of Kuwait has been elected for the sixth consecutive time as chair of Arab panel charged with tackling tariff exemption namely in the aviation realm.

Omar Al-Wilayati, observer of international treaties at the Kuwaiti Ministry of Finance, said in a statement the State of Kuwait was elected as head of the committee, tasked with amending the treaty for tariffs exemption for Arab aviation and cargo.

Al-Wilayati, who was speaking on margins of the commission meeting held today, said developments in the air transport sector have warranted re-examining the relevant 30-year-old accord, indicating that adopted proposals for the new treaty would be submitted to the Arab Social and Economic Council.
