Qatar- Al Shaqab students graduate at a glittering ceremony


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Students who received equestrian training at Al Shaqab, pose for a photograph with special guests during their graduation ceremony after receiving their certificates yesterday.

Doha: The graduation ceremony of the first group of students who received equestrian training at Al Shaqab, based on a new path and Arabian values, was held in a successful manner yesterday.

The grand ceremony was honoured by the presence of Sheikh Thani bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Sheikh Al Qa’qa bin Hamad Al Thani, H E Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani.

The little riders, who worked hard and attended practical trainings and theoretical classes regularly throughout the academic year that began in September 2015, proved their merit and skills in the arena in different competitions that were organized by the equine education Department and the Qatar Equestrian Federation.

“It wasn’t easy at the beginning, but it contributed to put the foundation stone for the coming generation and to start a new history full of adventure and challenges. This new page of history will be added to Al Shaqab heritage,” Said Mohammed Sultan Al Sowidi, Equine Education Acting Manager.

The Riding School was founded in 1996. During the ceremony, Al Shaqab also announced the setting up of a complete Qatari equestrian curriculum for aspiring professionals in equestrian sports in line with the heritage and culture of Qatar.

Sheikh Thani bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani honoured the winners, awarding them with certificates for their skills and success.

Fahad Al Qahtani, President of Community Development (QF), extended his sincere thanks to everyone who made this event such a success and expressed his appreciation to Sheikh Thani bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani for his continued support.

He also extended his great thanks to Alistair Routledge, President and General Manager for ExxonMobil Qatar for supporting Al Shaqab’s Equine Education programs.
