UAE- FNC delegation arrives in Amman to participate in WIP Global Summit

AMMAN 3rd May 2016 (WAM) -- Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi Speaker of Federal National Council FNC has arrived in Jordan at the head of the UAE delegation to the Women in Parliaments Global Forum WIP being held from 4th - 6th May.

The event will be held in cooperation with Jordan's House of Representatives. The summit co-organised with the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development OECD will be the first of its kind to be held in a Middle East and North African MENA country and will bring together female Parliamentarians from all over the world.

On her arrival in Amman Dr. Al Qubaisi and her accompanying delegation were received by Jordanian House of Representatives Speaker Atef Tarawneh a number of Jordanian members of the House of Representatives and Bilal Rabie Bilal Al Bodour UAE Ambassador to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

In remarks made on the occasion Dr. Al Qubaisi emphasised the importance of the event which will be held with the participation of 89 international delegations. She said that the summit will discuss a number of issues related to women and ways to empower them in various sectors. She also hailed Jordan for hosting the summit which reflects the progress accomplished during previous years.
