Peshawar Zalmi dedicated their first PSL victory to the students from Peshawar's Army Public School which was attacked by terrorists in December 2014 killing 141 people including 132 students.

"We are dedicating this win to the students of APS" Zalmi head coach Mohammad Akram said in the post-match Press conference.

On Friday some students from the school attended Peshawar's first PSL match against Islamabad at the Dubai Cricket Stadium.

"The whole team met the children who have come here to watch the matches. Our team also received them at the airport. We would be spending some more time with them over the next two days as well. So this win is for them."

The former Pakistan fast bowler also congratulated PCB on the success of the Pakistan Super League.

"There can't be a better feeling than this. Of all the beautiful things that have happened to Pakistan cricket in the past 15-20 years this tournament is the most special. Our young cricketers needed it the sport in our country needed it. The whole country is happy" he said.

After their impressive 24-run win over Islamabad United Akram said bowling is Peshawar's biggest strength.

"I believe you can't win matches in this form of the game with dot balls. You need wicket-taking bowlers. You can't survive if you can't take wickets" he said.
