Syrian Army: Russian airstrikes reduced ISIL fighting capabilities


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Airstrikes by Russian warplanes reduced fighting capabilities of the so-called Islamic State in Iraq and Levant (ISIL) in Syria, the Syrian Armed Forces Commander of Chief of Staff of the Army Abdullah Ayob said on Thursday.
Quoted by Syrian news agency (SANA), through a televised address, Ayob said the Syrian armed forces maintained the military momentum.
The commander added that the Syrian armed forces started a huge military land operation campaign.
Meanwhile, a Syrian military source told SANA that Russian airstrikes were precise and targeted a number of ISIL locations in Andan, Atarib, Dir Hafir in suburb of Aleppo.
The source said hundreds of ISIL members were eliminated and dozens of armed vehicles were destroyed.
