Qatar slams Israel's closure of Al Aqsa gates
(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Qatar has condemned Israeli closure of several gates of Al Aqsa Mosque for worshippers and allowing extremists and settlers to storm the mosque under the protection of occupation authorities' military and police.
In a statement yesterday, the Foreign Ministry said Qatar condemns Israeli violations in holy places and against the Palestinian people and its infringement on freedom to worship, stressing the special status of the mosque for Muslims.
The ministry reiterated Qatar's rejection of such acts that would exacerbate tension and instability in the region.
