Qatar- Many accidents caused by youth, students: Survey

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) The roads in Qatar are safest on Fridays, says a study, and it adds that based on a survey of 340 traffic accidents, students and those looking for jobs are more prone to causing accidents than others.

Some 47 percent of the 340 road mishaps that were surveyed for the study were caused due to lack of attention of motorists and nearly all these accidents were caused by students and youth hunting for jobs.

The study was conducted by the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics, reports Al Sharq. All the aforementioned motorists were aged less than 25.

Young motorists drive fast and do not care much about rules and regulations and road safety, shows the study.

The study also says that at least 50 percent of the accidents surveyed were caused by motorists who had driving experience of six years and less.
