Kuwait- Assessing Need For Expat Workers Has Positive Effect On The Market

(MENAFN- Arab Times) Evaluating the need for foreign workers affects the labor market and the population structure positively, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and Minister of State for Planning and Development Hind Sabeeh Al-Sabeeh said on Saturday. Al-Sabeeh today presided over the first meeting of the committee tasked with setting the new basis for assessing the needs of certain projects, authorities, and contracts of foreign labor at the Public Authority for Manpower.

In a press statement after the meeting, she said that assessing the needs of certain government contracts for foreign workers would help reduce restrictions on obtaining work permits for them. The committee has the power to get acquainted with the relevant procedures at the different government bodies, the minister noted. It aims at setting new mechanisms to evaluate the need for foreign workers for the good of public interests, reorganizing the labor market as well as to avoid imbalance of the population structure, Acting Director of the Public Authority for Manpower Abdullah Al-Mutawa said.
