Siemens hosts KFUPM students in Berlin
(MENAFN- Arab News) King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) was established with the goal of making distinct contributions in the fields of science engineering and business. This translates into the university's tireless effort to deliver world-class graduates cutting edge research and sound partnerships that benefit society.
Siemens makes real what matters and sets the global benchmark for electrification automation and digitalization. The company's competitiveness in Saudi Arabia is linked to its success in attracting and developing the best local talent.
Siemens and KFUPM therefore enjoy a long-standing relationship and achieved yet another milestone with the visit of 20 students to the company's instrumentation plant in Berlin.
For more than one hundred years Siemens instrumentation plant in Berlin has been developing and producing devices that monitor control and protect the equipment used in transmitting and distributing electricity. This production facility has a motto customers determine what we do and its 900 electronics and software specialists strive daily to deliver excellence across the development production and service departments. This environment is characterized by customer focus excellence and continuous improvement and proved to be ideal for hosting the enthusiastic group of science and engineering students from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals.
Around ten years ago KFUPM initiated a program that sought to expose their final-year and distinguished students to new environments. This represented the early days of the International Trips Program that is today managed within the Deanship of Student Affairs. The program has developed over several years to the level where international excursions are planned biannually and selected students have the opportunity to broaden their cultural and educational perspectives. The students are exposed to different industries which form part of the learning experience and the visit to Siemens contributed toward achieving these goals.
