Killer of Saudi in Kuwait arrested
(MENAFN- Arab News) RIYADH: A Gulf national was arrested in Riyadh last week and charged with killing a Saudi man in Kuwait Riyadh police announced Sunday.
The suspected killer who is in his 20s is alleged to have killed the Saudi due to disagreements between them according to the police.
The murder suspect came to the Kingdom and was hiding in Riyadh's Aziziah district when he was apprehended by the police. The murder took place in an area called Wafrah in Kuwait. The police did not reveal the nationality of the killer nor the whereabouts of the family of the deceased in the Kingdom. The suspect had also threatened the relatives of the deceased not to reveal any information about the murder to the authorities here in the Kingdom.
The Kuwaiti security authorities informed their Saudi counterparts that the killer had fled to Saudi Arabia following the murder. The Riyadh police took prompt action to apprehend the man before the suspect could harm family members of the deceased.
Saudi authorities are conducting further investigation in order to discover the motive for the killing and also to ascertain whether others are involved.
The Criminal Investigation Department and the Public Prosecution Department are in the process of framing charges against the suspect who is in police custody.
