Candle lighting at RAKCON


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) 15 Emirati local nursing students and 11 international students lit their candle from the dean and the senior faculty of RAKCON.

The Vice-Chancellor Dr S.G.M. Rao was felicitated for his 10-year of services to RAKCON. The dean of RAKCON was also awarded for her distinguished services for the development of first master’s programme in nursing in the country.

Ras Al Khaimah - Candle lighting Ceremony and Nurses Day Celebration took place at RAK College of Nursing (RAKCON) RAK Medical and Health Sciences University in Ras Al Khaimah recently.

The chief guest of the programme was Shaikh Abdullah bin Humaid Al Qasimi Director of the Office of the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah.

15 Emirati local nursing students and 11 international students lit their candle from the dean and the senior faculty of RAKCON they also pledge the Florence Nightingale oath. Through a video show the RAKCON achievements were shown from last eight years. The theme of the international nurses day “Nurses are Force to Change — Care Effective Cost Effective”. The vision of the dean — Dr Vijaya Kumardhas is to have one Emirati nurse in every Emirati family. This will take care of the theme of nurse day.

The college has two undergraduate and one graduate programme specifically the master’s programme is the only the accredited programme from Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHE&SR) UAE in the country.
