Saudi- Four held in child's death
(MENAFN- Arab News) Makkah police have arrested four people on suspicion of raping and beating to death a 10-year-old Afghan girl.
Four men who claimed to be her relatives had brought the child to the emergency unit of Al-Noor Hospital Makkah police spokesman Abdulwahab Al-Shalabi was quoted as saying by a local publication recently.
A preliminary medical examination revealed that the child had bruises on her back and trauma to her private parts consistent with rape Al-Shalabi said.
Doctors apparently reported the matter to the police after they found the bruises on the child's body. When police officers from Azizia went to investigate the men told them conflicting stories about what happened with one saying she fell off a roof and another that she was found lying close to their house said Al-Shalabi.
Investigations are continuing with a medical team now conducting further tests on the girl's body he said.
