Kerry calls Egypt FM on Mideast


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukry and US Secretary of State John Kerry discussed by phone on Saturday the current situation in the Middle East region.

During the phone conversation, they also addressed Egyptian-US relations in various cooperative fields and several issues of mutual interest, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Bader Abdelati said in a statement.

Both sides agreed to hold a bilateral meeting in New York on April 27 on the sidelines of an international nuclear conference due late this month, he added.

Another trilateral meeting involving Kerry, Shukry and their Jordanian counterpart will be also held on the fringe of the event in New York, focusing on Yemen, Libya and Middle East peace efforts.
