Arab League expresses appreciation for Lebanon for hosting Syrian refugees


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Assistant Secretary General of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs Badr Al-Din Al-Alaly expressed here on Thursday appreciation of the League for Lebanon for hosting Syrian refugees.

Al-Alaly said in a statement to reporters after his meeting with the Minister of Social Affairs Rashid Derbas at the head of a delegation from the Arab League that the Arab League delegation is visiting Lebanon in implementation of the decisions of the Arab Ministerial Council for Social Affairs to become acquainted with the Syrian refugees' conditions in Lebanon and to identify the difficulties faced by the Lebanese authorities in social and economic areas as a result of this humanitarian situation.

He added that the Arab Social Affairs Ministers Council offers symbolic support for Lebanon in this regard, pointing to the support of the donors' conference, which was held in Kuwait recently, which pledged to offer the Syrian refugees in neighboring countries USD 3.8 billion.

He pointed out that the delegation will submit a report on this visit to Lebanon to the Council of Arab Social Affairs Ministers during its next session to take the appropriate actions.
