Kuwait- Cabinet okays bill setting standards for leading jobs


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY April 1: The Cabinet has endorsed a draft law on the conditions and standards for appointment to leading positions as well as the rules for evaluating the performance of employees and officials reports Al-Anba daily quoting sources. Sources disclosed the conditions and standards include putting vacant positions in the structure university qualification 22 years experience for appointment in the excellent degree 20 years for undersecretaries and 16 years for assistant undersecretaries.

Sources said the draft law states amendments to civil service decree Number 15/1979 such as requiring those who will be appointed to leadership posts to present a qualification report and they must be fluent in English with excellent computer skills and passing marks in training courses. Sources added that priority will be given to applicants from the main authority followed by the governmental body and then the non-governmental authority.

Meanwhile there are indications that an extensive reshuffle will be conducted at the Municipal branches in all six governorates reports Al- Anba daily quoting knowledgeable sources. The same sources explained that Mubarak Al- Kabeer and Capital Municipal branches will be merged under the command of Engineer Faisal Al-Jum'a and Hawalli will be joined together with Ahmadi Municipality and supervised by Fahad Dughaim while Engineer Ahmad Al-Hazeem will take charge of activities after a merger of Jahra and Farwaniya Municipal branches following the reshuffle.
