1000 people of different nationalities including Emiratis registered for smart gate service of GDRFA


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) As many as 1000 people of different nationalities including Emirati citizens have applied at the smart gate service during the Dubai government achievement exhibition (DGAE) at the General Directorate for Residency and Foreigner Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA-Dubai) stand.

During the three days of the exhibition a large number of people registered at the smart gate service which was offered for free to the public.

The service allows the registered passengers to go through the passport control in less than 15 seconds. People who registered also have the chance to use the smart gate which was showcased at the GDRFA-Dubai stand. The smart gate, a self-service automated, secure and easy-to-use system, and an alternative to the traditional passport control counters at airports, helps in reducing long queues.

Major-General Mohammad Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate for Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai said the exhibition was a great success as it provided a chance for governmental departments to compete and to show their best. "Such kind of exhibitions will have great impact on the development of the country as it will open the door for government departments to show their best achievements on international level," he said.

"We are looking to provide more smart services to the public to make their life easy and to please our clients and to gain their satisfaction," he added.

In a survey conducted during the exhibition a total of 98 percent of the clients expressed their satisfaction about the GDRFA-Dubai service.

Rafeaa Muhair Al Kutbi from the customer care said that people interviewed during the exhibition showed their interest and happiness about the GDRFA services.
