Saudi Amb. to Washington announces joint GCC operation against Houthis in Yemen
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Saudi Ambassador to Washington Adel Al-Jubeir announced Thursday that a joint GCC military operation was undertaken to counter the "Houthi aggression" in Yemen.
According to a statement by the Saudi Embassy, Ambassador Adel Al-Jubeir said that the operation's goal is to protect the Yemeni people and the legitimate government from the Houthis' advance.
Al-Jubeir affirmed that the operation was carried out on the request of the Yemeni government, adding that the Saudi government and the GCC states will always stand with Yemen during time of crisis.
