Cricket: UAE bat against India in World Cup


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) United Arab Emirates captain Mohammad Tauqir won the toss and decided to bat in the World Cup Pool B game against India at the WACA Ground on Saturday.

In announcing his decision, Tauqir said he wanted his side to try to defend a total against the heavily-favoured Indians.

India were unable to choose paceman Mohammed Shami due to a knee injury and he was replaced by fellow speedster Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

India are unbeaten in the tournament, having beaten Pakistan and South Africa easily in their previous two matches. The United Arab Emirates have lost both their matches.
