Mind Maps for Effective Project Management by Maneesh Dutt

(MENAFNEditorial) Tony Buzan is credited with introducing the amazing concept of Mind Maps to the world. Rightly so, his contribution has evolved in the world in many more ways than even he would have imagined. Many subsequent interpretations developed this concept and made it phenomenal with potential for multiple applications. One of the aspects that has seemingly benefitted from these maps is project management. Several people and organisations struggle to find the right mix of tools & techniques for managing their projects and subsequent deadlines. Mind Maps can really help project teams with effective Project management.

Excerpts from an interview with Maneesh Dutt
How did you come across Mind Mapping?
It was purely by accident that icame across Tony Buzan's book, "How to Mind Map". At that time, I didn't realise that it would change the course of his life. The results that I achieved by using Mind Maps further bolstered my confidence and belief in the fire of Mind Maps. Post this, I left my full-time job to focus my energy on taking this concept forward.

What's the best thing about Mind Mapping?
Mind Mapping is all about reigniting the spark for the two dimensions: "learning" and "creating". These dimensions usually diminish with age, but with Mind Maps we can positively impact both.

How do Mind Maps fit into one's daily life?
Once you have learnt the concept of Mind Maps it becomes easy to quickly see opportunities for Mind Mapping in your everyday life. They can be used tocreate work schedules, marketing strategy, publicity campaigns, managing events, business planning, taking decisions, teaching kids, and much more. I have used them for numerous applications and am still discovering new avenues where this concept can be applied.

Which book of yours is most suited for organisations to get started with Mind Mapping?
Whenever any function or department of an organisation needs to introduce something new product or service, it is best to follow a project mode to achieve success. Hence my book"Mind Maps for Effective Project Management" is the onewhich can help individuals & organisations learn the basics of how to make good Mind Maps and also immediately discover opportunities for applying them. To help organisations easily adopt Mind Maps I have included more than 40 ready to use mind map templates in the book. The best part is that the book offers something which can benefit almost every industry. Also I am happy to share that this book has been procured by leading libraries & management institutes across the globe including the Harvard Business School.

What motivated you to write this book "Mind Maps for Effective Project Management"?
While the project management is known to have a universal appeal, Mind Maps in general don't enjoy a similar wide recognition. With my background & experience in Project Management I wanted to showcase how Mind Maps can fill the much needed "creativity gap" while managing projects. The combination of these two aspects offers great potential benefits which was the prime motivation for me to write this book.

How does Mind Mapping help children learn better?
One question that bothers every parent about the child is "How to focus better?" when it comes to academics.Observe closely that this question never comes to the parents mind when the child is engrossed in doing something he/she likes. Thus the answer to the question "How to focus better?" lies in enhancing the energy of the subject on hand so that the child enjoys it. With the brain friendly methodology that Mind Map is, it exactly fills this gap to make learning much more interesting for the child by enablingwhole brain thinking. This is how it helps children learn better and all new age parents must make an effort to learn new age learning & teaching methodologiesto answer the fundamental question "How to focus better?".
