Passenger numbers in UK airports likely to drop without Brexit deal
(MENAFN) Industry report revealed that Britain's airports are estimated to witness a fall in passenger numbers by about 40% in case the government doesn't approve an interim aviation deal with the European Union by October 2018.
According to the research made by leading British airports including London's Heathrow and Gatwick, flights might be banned and Britain's economy would be negatively affected without a security of future access to the EU's single aviation market.
Britain is planning to depart the EU in March 2019. However, with many air passengers booking months in advance, the government must secure an agreement well before that date, the report marked.
