UAE-based du LalLiga team beat Malaga CF in under-16 game

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) In a hard-fought contest, UAE-based du LalLiga High Performance Centre (HPC) edged out Spain's LaLiga Youth League Champions Malaga CF in an U16 match as part of the 21-day scouting camp in Spain.

The UAE boys took an early lead with Abdulrahman heading home a perfect cross from Mazloumian freekick in the third minute. Malaga cancelled that lead ten minutes later with a chip over the head of goalkeeper Rajai Ardakani and the teams crossed over with scores tied at 1-1.

Going into the second half, both teams stepped up the pace in a bid to take an early lead but it was du LaLiga HPC's Elkhamlichi who effortlessly dribbled past two defenders to give the UAE team a 2-1 lead in the 49th minute.

Malaga were quick to equalise with a well-executed counterattack.

But Mehdi Elkhamlichi made a run from mid-field and provided an assist for Kareem Mohammed to make it 3-2 for the UAE boys.

Meanwhile, the UAE U18 boys matched their Spanish counterparts with speed and tactical play but ended up on the losing side by a solitary goal against the local Malaga team.
