Qatari camels transported from UAE to Doha

Chairman of the Camel Race Organising Committee, Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Faisal Al Thani has extended his thanks to the Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for the Emiri gesture to transport the Qatari camels that were in the UAE to Doha by sea via the Sultanate of Oman and to facilitate all procedures until they arrive from the port of Sohar in Oman to Ruwais port in Qatar within two and a half days.

The Chairman of the Camel Race Organising Committee said that so far 204 camels have arrived in Doha and that there are more than 400 are still in Oman. They are expected to arrive in phases in view of the full cooperation between us and our brothers in Oman.

Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Faisal Al Thani extended his thank to brothers in Oman, especially the Minister of Youth and Sports and the Omani Camel Race Federation headed by Saeed Al Ghafaili, and head of Oman Hockey Federation Abdullah Al Jabri, who coordinated between the Camel Racing Committee in Qatar and the Oman Camel Race Federation, praising the great role played by the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Oman, especially the Ambassador of Qatar to the Sultanate Ali bin Fahad Al Hajri.

He added that the transportation of these camels from the UAE to Qatar via Oman was not an easy task, hailing the sincere efforts of the committee members, especially the committee's representative Khalil bin Nasser Al Shahwani who followed up the transportation of the camels from Oman to Doha.
