Renowned Tennessee Plastic Surgeon Dr. Langsdon Was Featured in the Memphis Medical News's Healthcare 2017 Issue

Facial plastic surgeon Dr. Phillip Langsdon, founder of the Langsdon Clinic, was featured in the recent issue of Memphis Medical News In Charge publication. The Healthcare 2017 issue explored the changes affecting both patients and providers. Dr. Langsdon was among four prominent members of the Memphis healthcare field who offered their expertise on the future state of healthcare and medicine in Memphis.

In his part of the feature, Dr. Langsdon offered his perspective as a long-time private practice physician and a professor for the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Dr. Langsdon spoke at length about the challenges that physicians face due to new mandates and regulations. Dr. Langsdon emphasized that the overwhelming growth of government regulations and compliance issues, in addition to new requirements from accrediting bodies have reached a tipping point. Additional requirements such as maintenance of certification, take precious time away from actual patient care. Punitive government fines for rules physician are not even aware of has made it near impossible for the single or small group practices to survive. Dr. Langsdon ended his part of the piece by stressing the importance of giving encouragement and support to physicians and improving the reputation of the healthcare system in the community.

Memphis Medical News is a monthly publication geared towards members of the Memphis medical field.
