DIHAD honors Kuwait's Al-Maatouq for his humanitarian role


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) By Suleiman Redha DUBAI, March 23 (KUNA) -- The Dubai International Humanitarian Aid and Development (DIHAD) Conference and Exhibition honored Chairman of the International Islamic Charitable Organizations (IICO) Dr. Abdullah Al-Maatouq for his efforts within the global humanitarian scene.

In a statement to KUNA, the Kuwaiti official expressed his appreciation for the honoring, adding that it reflected the genuine image of Kuwait in the humanitarian sphere. He thanked the UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, and Dubai Ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum for sponsoring of DIHAD's Conference and Exhibition, praising his noble initiative for declaring 2017 as the 'Year of Giving'. DIHAD's 15th conference was held under auspices of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, on March 21 - 23 under the logo "the impact of crises and disasters on children".

It aimed at facilitating the work of regional humanitarian actors to meet with the ultimate goal of reducing suffering around the world. (end) smr.haq
