Sudden strong dust winds lash Qatar. Poor visibility reported

UPDATE: Dust resulting from thunder cells downdraft winds expected to dissipate and visibility improves gradually in all areas within the next hour: Qatar Meteorology Department.

Doha: Strong dust winds and poor visibility are reported from many parts of the country. Motorists are advised to be careful on the roads.

Scattered rains were also reported from different parts of the country.

Meteorology department warned of thunder rains accompanied by temporary strong winds and poor visibility due to dust.

They tweeted that the visibility will get better in sometime.

In another tweet they said that the rains have moved eastward towards Alkhor coast and another thunder cell has formed southwest of AlShahania.

'Doha is being affected by dust due to temporary strong downdraft winds resulting from the thunder cells in the north,” the department said.
