Austrian top oil firms compete to tap Iran's lucrative prospects


(MENAFN) An unknown Austrian top firm is planning to invest a staggering USD6 billion in two Iranian oil and petrochemical projects, based on recent reports.

The two projects consist of the Dehloran petrochemical plant and Dehloran NGL oil refinery, and it was confirmed that the contracts will be signed in just 30 days.

Accordingly, prior to the anticipated deal a group of experts from the Russian firm Zarubej Neft are expected to make extensive field studies on the oil fields.

Moreover, the mentioned Russian company has already set grounds for deepening its ties with Iran after signing a Memorandum of understanding.
