Story-i Ltd eyes opportunity in Indonesian education sector

Story-i Ltd (ASX:SRY) reseller of Apple products in Indonesia entered into a contract with Perkumpulan Sekolah Kristen Djakarta (PSKD) to supply new Apple devices bundled with customised applications across the organisation’s 16 schools.

Formerly Pine Capital Ltd the contract win extends to annual hosting and software maintenance fees and service and maintenance of PSKD’s network infrastructure.

The new contract will potentially deliver $500000 in sales revenue to the company.

The rollout of devices bundled education software and hosting services under the contract with BPK Penabur announced in October 2015 continues to progress on schedule.

BPK Penabur is a Christian schooling group with 45 schools in 15 cities making it one of the largest private school networks in Indonesia.

Story-i expects its expansion into education to add $2.5 million to its FY16 revenue figure.

Story-i appointed Rita Nurtuka to head up the education division. Nurtuka has previously worked with Ingram Micro (NYSE:IM) and Symantec Corporation (NASDAQ:SYMC) in management roles.

Indonesia is home to over 260000 schools of which 60% are fee paying private schools. Story-i looks to further expand its business in this sector.
